Floyd Rose Fat Tungsten Tremolo Sustain Block

Get fatter tone for your Floyd. This “Fat” tungsten big block adds mass and sustain right where your bridge needs it. And it’s a drop in upgrade.

These sustain blocks offer the highest density available in a block that will fit a Floyd Rose bridge. The extra thick 1/2″ (12.75mm) block is double the thickness than the standard Floyd block.

When it comes to sustain, the most important properties for metals are density and hardness. Tungsten is over four times denser than titanium and more than twice as dense as brass.

This is a direct replacement for the stock Floyd Rose sustain block, adding up to a half pound of mass to your bridge.

High density for better tone
Why are density and mass important to sound and sustain? A fixed guitar bridge efficiently transmits string vibration from the bridge to the body through a large contact area, but tremolo bridges are limited by a few very small attachment points and a great deal of resonance is lost. 

A high density sustain block means greater mass and more vibration transmitted to the bridge where it belongs. With this tungsten sustain block, every note will be brighter with a noticeable increase in clarity and sustain. No other sustain block offers the perfect combination of mass and hardness.

Drop in upgrade
This block is the same width as the standard Floyd Rose sustain block but double the thickness. Center to center hole spacing of the outside screws is 1.345″ (34mm). Simply pick the model that matches your bridge.

Since this block is larger than a conventional sustain block, it can also limit upward travel of the tremolo and can be set to rest against the body in a blocked bridge configuration. For floating bridge setup this block may require some routing in the spring cavity.

42mm: for flush-mount installations (the Original)
37mm: for recessed bridges
32mm: for deeply recessed bridges and Floyd Rose Pro

These blocks will fit the Original Series 6 and 7-string, and the Special Series and 1000 Series 6-string. These blocks will NOT function on the 1000 Series Pro 7-String or Special 7-String Tremolo Systems.
