To make files this fine and precise, we had to vary the grit. The 0.010″ and 0.013″ are 400-grit, the 0.016″ and 0.020″ are 300-grit, and the 0.024″-0.056″ are 150-grit. The finer grit lets even the thinnest files cut straight and smooth without “wandering” like thinner files will do.
